South Bucks Junior League U14 Division 3
Sunday 8th January 2012
Bucks CC Colts: 7 – Marlow: 2
A match that really “all happened” in the 1st half! Nil-nil, 2-nil up to Bucks, suddenly 2-all, and then 5-2 up to the Colts at half time with all 7 goals scored in a 22 minute period where every third attack by either team seemed to produce results. The 1st half was also where all the football happened; with the 2nd period dominated more by aerial ping pong and misplaced passes from both sides; but nevertheless producing 2 more unanswered goals for the home side… eventually replicating exactly the margin of the 5-0 away victory in the reverse fixture before Christmas.

South Bucks Junior League U15 Division 3 – Sunday 11 December
Hughenden Valley: 0 - Bucks CC Colts: 5
This was the one match of the Colts Season so far that most would gladly buy the DVD of, with Bucks not just playing their passing game in pleasing passages but from whistle-to-whistle… on one occasion putting a sequence of 11 passes together that took in most areas of the home side’s half. If you set out to play football this way, refusing, to your cost sometimes, not to focus on punting the ball up-field for Johnny Whippet to run on to, this was surely a game to make managers and supporters purr with delight! And a pleasure not directly connected with the scoreline… the Colts were only 1 up at half time but could have had 5 by then; but no-one had any doubt who would win. Hughenden couldn’t keep possession themselves and rarely created any pressure for a defence of Bucks’ quality; partly because if you play the Colts way you can play several of your faster players at the back… including said Mr W!

South Bucks Junior League U15 Division 3
Sunday 27th November 2011
Marlow: 0 - Bucks CC Colts: 5
After a few minutes with the game level and Marlow – wind assisted – launching frequent early attacks through two quick, powerful strikers, it was difficult… really difficult to see, why Marlow have struggled so far, so often this season. Even with the promise of positive assistance from the elements later in the game, this looked, whatever the league statistics told you, like a game the Colts might struggle to impose themselves in.

Sunday 20th November - South Bucks Junior League U15 Div 3
Hedgerley: 2 - Bucks CC Colts: 2
The biggest shock for the Visitors could have been the fog that surrounded the South Buckinghamshire hills on arrival; but no… amongst the swirling white mist was a pitch surely borrowed from nearby Beaconscot Model Village. Smaller by far than any junior pitches experienced before the move this season to adult size… A professional goalkeeper could quite easily play crossbar challenge from goal kicks at the other end.

South Bucks Junior League U15 Division 3 – Sunday 30th October
Bucks Colts: 2 – Loudwater: 0
A two week break, with some generous training input from the West Brom Academy, and a very similar précis to the Thame match except at Home.
Goalkeeper Armstrong, Brad Burksfield and Matty Arthurs all excellent and, if at all possible, even overshadowed by Reuben Woodley… until recently a Basketball player with no football experience at all. At this rate he will look like he’s been a centre half from the age of 4 by the end of this season.
